Designation:GIMEN
Depositor:CLS
Organism:Homo sapiens (human)
Ethnicity:Caucasian
Tissue:neuroblastoma
Morphology:epithelial
Growth Properties:monolayer
Description:IFN gamma inhibits growth of GIMEN. FGF-2 is antimitogenic for GIMEN cells, this antimitogenic effect of FGF-2 is reversed by IFN gamma and enhanced by IL-1 beta.
Culture Medium:Minimum essential medium Eagle supplemented with 2 mM L-glutamine and Earle's BSS adjusted to contain 1.5 g/L sodium bicarbonate, 0.1 mM non-essential amino acids, 1.0 mM sodium pyruvate and 10% fetal bovine serum.
Subculturing:Remove medium, rinse with fresh 0.025% trypsin solution, remove trypsin and let the culture sit at room temperature (or at 37°C)until the cells detach (about 10 minutes). Add fresh medium, aspirate and dispense into new flasks.
Split Ratio:A ratio of 1:6 to 1:12 is recommended
Fluid Renewal:2 to 3 times weekly
Freeze Medium:CM-1, Cell Lines Service
Sterility:Tests for mycoplasma, bacteria and fungi were negative
Biosafety Level:1
