Designation:MDA-MB-436
Depositor:Cailleau
Organism:Homo sapiens (human)
Ethnicity:Caucasian
Age/Stage:43 years of age
Gender:female
Tissue:Breast; mammary gland; pleural effusion
Morphology:pleomorphic with multinucleated component cells
Celltype:Adenocarcinoma
Growth Properties:monolayer
Description:The line is pleomorphic and most cells react intensely with anti tubulin antibody as demonstrated by indirect immunofluorescence staining.
Culture Medium:DMEM:Ham's F12 supplemented with 2 mM L-glutamin and 10% fetal bovine serum. Incubate at 37°C/5% CO2.
Subculturing:Subcultures are prepared by scraping. Remove medium, add 3 to 5 ml of fresh medium, dislodge cells from the floor of the flask, aspirate and dispense into new flasks. Subculture every 6 to 8 days.
Split Ratio:A ratio of 1:2 is recommended
Fluid Renewal:2 to 3 times weekly
