| Description: | Derived from the peripheral blood of a patient with Sezary syndrome. The line has the properties of a mature human T cell with helper/inducer activity. It releases IL-2 and has receptors for IL-2. The growth rate is stimulated by IL-2. TNF alpha is an autocrine growth factor for HuT-78. |
| Culture Medium: | RPMI 1640 medium supplemented with 2 mM L-glutamine adjusted to contain 1.5 g/L sodium bicarbonate, 4.5 g/L glucose, 10 mM HEPES, 1.0 mM sodium pyruvate and 10% fetal bovine serum or Iscove's modified Dulbecco's medium supplemented with 4 mM L- glutamine adjusted to contain 1.5 g/L sodium bicarbonate and 20% fetal bovine serum. |
| Subculturing: | Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 1 x 105 cells/ml ay maintain between 1 x 105 and 1 x 106 cells/ml. |
