Description:The IGR-1 cell line has been established from the metastatic melanoma in a growing lymph node.
Culture Medium:Minimum essential medium (Eagle) in Hanks' BSS supplemented with 2 mM L-glutamine, 1 mM sodium pyruvate, 1 mM nonessential amino acids (NEA) and 15% fetal bovine serum. Alternatively, RPMI 1640 Medium supplemented with 2 mM L-glutamineand 10% fetal bovine serum may be used.
Subculturing:Remove medium, add fresh 0.025% trypsin solution for 2 to 3 minutes, remove trypsin, add fresh medium, aspirate and dispense into new flasks. Subculture every 6 to 8 days.
Split Ratio:A ratio of 1:2 to 1:5 is recommended
Fluid Renewal:2 to 3 times weekly

Sterility:Tests for mycoplasma, bacteria and fungi were negative
